Orientation Set for August

The next session of New Hope 101, which is an orientation to what we believe and an introduction to New Hope Church, will be August 30, 5:00 PM. This time, led by Dr. Mulkey, is open to visitors, new members and current members who would like to learn a little more about the church. A light meal is provided.

Financial Status

The approved budget for 2009 was $176,890.76. We are at the halfway mark of the year, but have a giving shortfall for the first five months. If you are going to be away on vacation this summer, please remember that our expenses are ongoing and write your check before you leave.

The “Feed a Family” bag program is at the heart of the HUM mission. Your donations of canned veggies, canned fruits and staple food items help fill those bags which provide five well-balanced meals for a family of four. Always in short supply are canned meats, stews and cereal. A complete list of items needed is on the bulletin board in the sanctuary.

Countryside Lakes Assisted Living
June birthday celebrants will be recognized on Wednesday, June 17, at noon. Meet Bill Batchelor and others in the lobby to greet those celebrating birthdays.

Dive Into Bible Study

As part of our summer emphasis on Bible Study a little extra something is coming on Wednesday nights. On the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays you may find bible trivia or a crossword puzzle on your supper table. It's all in fun and only you will see your answers. There will also be an opportunity to hone your Bible skills with simple Bible drills led by Elaine Hardy following dinner.

New Deacons Lou Herouart and Joan Wood will be ordained on Sunday, June 21st.

Vacation Bible School

All children ages 4 through 5th grade, are invited to be a part of the excitement at our Vacation Bible School CAMP EDGE during the week of July 27 th through 31st from 5:30 pm to 8:15 pm. VBS campers will be served a light supper each evening.

CAMP EDGE takes children to an extreme adventure camp where they experience and discover God everywhere!
